Prof. Hubert Oesterle of the University of St. Gallen Switzerland received a degree of Doctorate Honoris Causa from the Wroclaw University of Economics during the ceremonial conferment on March 5th, 2015. Prof. Oesterle was an initiator of a collaboration agreement signed between the two Universities in 2012 for a joined R&D in the area of Independent Living, that resulted, inter alia, in an establishment at WUE of Competence Center Services for Society (CC S4S).

Accepted an invitation to chair the ICEIS 2015 Doctoral Consortium in Barcelona at the end of April.

Commencing 9 December 2014, I was appointed by Macquarie University ~Sydney for the next 4-year term as an Honorary Fellow. The appointment is "in recognition of my expertise, reputation, and demonstrated commitment to excellence, education, and research".

Commencing 20 January 2015, I have been employed by the Wroclaw University of Economics as Scientific Supervisor to the ActGo-Gate project. The appointment is for the duration of the project, i.e. until 30 November 2017.

Active Retiree and Golden Workers Gate (ActGo-Gate) 30-month project started December 1, 2014. The project is funded by AAL Joint Programme Call AAL-2013-6 Part B (ICT-based Solutions for Supporting Occupation in Life of Older Adults)). The total grant value to the consortium (8 partners; Switzerland (4), Germany (2), Ireland - yet to sign up (1) Poland (1) EURO 1 632 918.--. Grant to Wrocław University of Economics PLN 1 572 937.--). After securing the grant to WUE as a consortium partner, I have opted to act as a Scientific Supervisor for Wroclaw's work package.
